The Emirates uniform is an important contributor to the company’s brand identity. It is essential that staff adhere to Emirates Image and Uniform Standards to assist in maintaining the company’s professional image.
During training, Cabin Crew complete an Image and Uniform day. This helps to ensure that Cabin Crew are aware of these standards.
I have been anticipating this day since I moved to Dubai. It is the first day that Ab initios– the name given to new joiners- get to wear the full Emirates uniform.
The training we received on this day gave me the opportunity to ask questions regarding my beauty and skincare regime and allowed me to gain feedback on how I could visually enhance my professional appearance.
Wearing the uniform gives me a great sense of pride. This is because, in my opinion, it represents more than just a brand. It represents a lifestyle.
You see, when I first applied to Emirates, some of the requirements were:
• A positive attitude and empathy for others
• Strong cultural awareness and the ability to adapt to new environments and people
• Qualities necessary to live up to the mission and values that Emirates holds in high regard – Professional, Empathetic, Progressive, Visionary, Cosmopolitan
So, while the uniform I’m wearing may just mean that I’m “Emirates Cabin Crew” to you, it really means much more to me. It’s hard to explain, but you can ask any Cabin Crew and they will probably say the same thing.
