A big THANK YOU to everyone who has taken the time to wish me well over the last week! I’ve been overwhelmed by all the kind words of support and encouragement, especially with regards to my return home (after nearly five years of living abroad in Dubai, United Arab Emirates) and my Miss Universe Canada 2020 announcement!
I promise to keep you informed with my happenings both on my blog and social channels listed below, as I prepare for pageant week in October.
At present, I’m quarantining in my hometown of London, Ontario. The Government of Canada requires anyone entering Canada—whether by air, land or sea— to isolate for 14 days upon arrival. This will give me plenty of time to put together a plan of action for Miss Universe Canada (sponsors, media, wardrobe etc.) as well as to brainstorm ways to raise money for Toronto, Canada based charity Feed It Forward.
Feed it Forward is a Canadian not-for-profit with two main goals: to feed Canadians that are food insecure, and to reduce food waste. Its mission is to make a difference in the lives of fellow Canadians who are in need of assistance with securing nutritious food and regular balanced meals. If you would like to contribute to this cause, please get in touch with me! They are one of two charities Miss Universe Canada is supporting this year, along with SOS Children’s Villages.
I’m also in the process of looking for sponsors who would like to be a part of my Miss Universe Canada journey too. If you or someone you know would like to make a contribution, please reach out to contact@lipstickandluggage.ca!
Much love,
Kelsey
