Over 23,000 visitors attended the 29th edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2022 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) which took place from May 9-12 during Dubai’s Arabian Travel Week. The event saw industry leaders and global representatives from 112 destinations gather to share insights under the theme “the future of international travel and tourism“.
In collaboration with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), ATM featured a variety of sessions where travel, tourism, and business professionals from around the world were able to discuss current trends and explore long-term opportunities within the fields of travel, transportation, tourism, hospitality, and more.
With business travel expenditure in the Middle East forecasted to rise by 32% this year, (according to the World Travel & Tourism Council) one of the many highlights was the region’s clear path to a sustainable recovery. The show floor at this year’s edition was over 85% larger than the previous- a growth courtesy of the expansion of several sector- and region-specific zones, including Travel Tech (380%), hotels (71%), the Middle East (57%), Africa (56%), Asia (50%), and Europe (49%).
Building on the momentum of the hugely successful Expo 2020 Dubai, the event came at a time whereby industry partners and travel and tourism professionals were welcomed to visit a vibrant networking environment to share experiences, insights, and best practices to reinvigorate tourism growth in a post-pandemic world.
