The Emirates Group builds innovation platform to spearhead the future of aviation and travel
On March 9 I had the pleasure of attending ForsaTEK; an event aimed at driving the future of travel through innovative technology, co-creation, and entrepreneurship. Held in it’s first edition, the initiative hosted by The Emirates Group brought together technology innovators, investors, industry professionals, and partners in the travel industry with the goal of creating change through collaborative efforts; connecting great minds and envisioning the travel experience of tomorrow.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline and Group, officially opened the event in the presence of Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ Chief Operating Officer, and several Emirates Group partners that included: Accenture, Airbus, Amadeus, Collins Aerospace, Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, GE Aerospace, Microsoft and Thales.
ForsaTEK welcomed key presentations by start-ups from both Intelak and Aviation X Lab, providing them with the opportunity to engage with partners and facilitate business-led discussions that had the potential to transpire into sustainable opportunities in the travel and tech ecosystems. Several panel discussions with industry leaders also took place alongside a display of innovative technologies in a “souk style” exhibition space.
Derived from ‘Forsa’ which means ‘your opportunities’ in Arabic, ForsaTEK and is a play on the words technology and Emirates (code EK). The event is set to take place annually at Emirates Group Headquarters and will continue to be used as a platform to showcase technological initiatives and applications for shaping the next era of travel.
