Layover Life: Paris, France

C’est la vie, mon chéri; I finally made it to Paris, France!

When I was in highschool, a few of my classmates had the opportunity to visit the “city of love”. Unfortunately, I was unable to join them and have longed to visit Paris ever since. This week, I was finally given that opportunity and had an amazing time with the crew.

We touched down in the evening and opted to eat dinner together at the hotel before resting for the evening. A few of us decided to leave the hotel, but because of our later arrival time, I wanted to ensure that I was well rested for the adventures to come. I really enjoy when the Cabin Crew get’s together for dinner, because we get to know each other outside of our uniforms!

Following a good night’s sleep, a few of us caught the train from the airport to the city- a trip that took us about an hour. It wasn’t too difficult to navigate the metro, and the people were very helpful when it came to asking for directions. A word of caution though- be sure to watch your bags while travelling in Europe. We had a bit of a scare while in transit! Although everything turned out alright, this incident could have been prevented. Keep your bags close to you, and sealed!

The first attraction on our list was the Eiffel Tower. As you can imagine, it was very busy and we weren’t able to make it to the top. We still managed to pause for some pictures and ventured to the Jardins du Trocadéro where we got a perfect view of the landscape. This is where tons of tourist come to snap pictures.

From there, we travelled to the Notre Dame Cathedral. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of my favourite movies, so you can imagine how excited I was to be there! Due to time restrictions, we couldn’t go into the Cathedral and had to head back to the hotel shortly after.

If you go: There is a lot to do in Paris, France. My advice to you if you go is to plan your trip accordingly. I’ve said this before, but I try not to plan ahead for my layovers because I like the element of surprise. However, because Cabin Crew only spend about 24 hours here at a time, I regret not picking a specific attraction to spend the day at.

Next Stop: Doha, Qatar (turnaround x2) followed by Brisbane, Australia!

I got a Paris layover about a week ago and it was amazing. The weather was perfect. You’re right it’s better to plan what you wanna do for a day layover it makes things way more productive. Next time I might do one of those bus tours. This was a fun read I can’t wait to here about when you go to Australia!
