Layover Life: Vienna, Austria

From its historic architecture, to innovative museums, beautiful gardens, bustling restaurants and busy streets, Vienna, Austria has much to offer. With only 24 hours to spare in the city, as you could imagine, it was really difficult to decide what to do!

It was the first time in Vienna for a lot of the crew, so many of us struggled to make up our minds; do we go shopping or do we go sight seeing? Despite this dilemma, we all agreed on one thing- we needed to find a place to eat first!

There were a few restaurants that were recommended to us by crew, but we settled on Wiener Stadtbraeu downtown near the St. Stephen’s Cathedral. It was a great place to grab authentic German food that was affordable- and tasty!

Berner Würstel anyone?

From there, I took off on my own wandered around the city, where I met up with my friend Christian Heger. He is also a talented photographer, so we snapped a few photos while he acted as my tour guide. We started by the Wiener Minoritenkirche, wandered through the Volksgarten and ended up near the Naturhistorisches Museum Wien. A walk that I would highly recommend!

Shortly after this, I decided to head back to the hotel to get an early rest. I had thought about getting up before our noon departure to go to the supermarket, but I couldn’t get myself out of bed! -Hashtag crew life- lol

It doesn’t sound like I got up to much, but I really did enjoy my time here. I’m adding this to the list of places I want to return to because of its beauty and the endless amount of things to do!

If you go: This is another plan your trip destination! There is so much to do and see, I regret not doing my research beforehand. I’ll definitely be coming back though!

Next stop: New York, U.S.A.

I would love to go to Vienna so that I could try sacher torte and go to an opera, I don’t even particularly like opera but I feel that Vienna would be the perfect place to go to a performance 🙂
