It’s true what they say, #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines! I had a blast on my recent visit to Cebu and Clark. This trip is a multi-sector for Cabin Crew, meaning we go to each destination with the same team. Starting in Dubai, we fly to Cebu first and stay 24 hours. From there, we operate a quick flight to Clark and spend 24 hours there too before heading back to Dubai!
It was my second time operating this route, but there were still plenty of things to do! In Cebu, seven of us decided to visit Kawasan Falls. This waterfall is one of the most famous in the Philippines, especially amongst Cabin Crew! We did a three hour exhilarating “Canyoneering” tour to get there, that took us through the jungle. It was challenging to say the least, but we laughed throughout the whole experience. We all managed to complete the jumps that were thrown at us, including one that was 15 meters high!
The second part of our journey took us from Cebu to Clark. The flight time was less than an hour, which made the service a bit challenging for us. Nevertheless, we made the most of it. By the time we got to the hotel though, most of us were exhausted. Those who visited Kawasan falls had been up for over 12 hours! Despite this, a few of us went for dinner on Walking Street. I didn’t stay out late though; I had my alarm set for 4:00 AM to visit Mt. Pinatubo again!
If you’ve been following my journey for awhile, you may remember that last time I took on this mountain I didn’t bring adequate footwear. The six inch heels I chose to wear made reaching the crater at the top impossible, even though I cheated and took a motorbike halfway up! This time, I was determined to make it and I’m happy to report that I did along with two of my colleagues.
The view was incredible and made returning totally worth it. As awesome as reaching the top was, my favourite part of the tour was the 45 minute 4X4 ride to and from the trail. Nothing beats speeding through the rocky terrain top down!
If you ever have the chance to visit the Philippines, I highly encourage you to check out these destinations. Many Cabin Crew request the CEB-CRK multi-sector specifically to visit these places, and this, by far, is one of my favourite layovers to date.
