Layover Life: Mayfield Lavender, Banstead, United Kingdom

Looking for something different to do in London, England? Mayfield Lavender is the place to visit!

Located less than 15 miles from the city centre, this 25-acre family run farm offers Instagram-worthy scenery and fun tractor rides around the property. You can also enjoy some tasty lavender flavoured snacks and beverages at its al fresco café, and take a piece of the farm home with you by making a purchase at the lavender gift shop.

At only £2 (children 16 and under are free), Mayfield Lavender is open to the public between June 1st and September 16 (weather dependant). It operates 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and provides parking to customers free of charge. The fields are also accessible via public transit for those of you (like me) who don’t drive!

Acquired by Brendan Maye in 2002, (with the help of BioRegional and with approval from Wella UK), the organic pastures have slowly become a haven for tourists. It is because of this that Mayfield Lavender recommends visitors to stop by during the week in the summer months, as it gets busy rather quickly on weekends.
