Layover Life: Dhaka, Bangladesh and the Maria Cristina Foundation

This week, I had the pleasure of visiting the Maria Cristina Foundation in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded by Maria Da Conceicao in 2005, MCF aims to eliminate poverty through education.

I was first introduced to the foundation on a layover in January 2018. It was there that I captured some exciting memories that have kept me coming back.

This was my fifth visit to the foundation, and with me, I was able to bring contributions from the Cabin Crew community. I also got to speak to the children about their career aspirations, and was saddened to learn that more donations are needed to send 10 more of these beautiful souls to school abroad this year. The sponsorships they had been relying on are no longer available, and visa complications have stalled potential internship opportunities for them in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Despite the difficulties they have been faced with, these children are determined to be successful. Let’s help them to make their dreams come true!

Please get in touch with me if you would like to get involved, or visit the Maria Cristina Foundation website. Thank you!

Hi Kelsey … It’s wonderful to see how you put your beauty and charm to such great purposes and endeavors. Some years back I had sponsored 2 boys for 2 consecutive years at the Maria Cristina Foundation. I am wondering if there is any way to learn what happened to them. I have their names and photos. Thank you
