On November 4, 2015 my life changed forever. I boarded a flight at Toronto Pearson International Airport, with a one way ticket to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where I became Cabin Crew with Emirates.
Although my journey ended unexpectedly five years later due to COVID-19, I’m thankful to have visited 70+ countries, been a part of a diverse group of 120+ nationalities delivering exceptional world-class service, and to have represented our award-winning team at press conferences and sporting events around the world.
Since my redundancy in August, I took to the Miss Universe Canada stage in an effort to use my strength, determination and platform of inclusivity to empower others. With only two months to prepare, I raised funds (with your help) and volunteered with Toronto based charity Feed It Forward. I also developed a supportive team of mentors and sponsors (thank you Stylin’ Hair Design in Burlington, Ontario, NuMe Hair, Ekaj and Pageant Coach Canada) and got to share my message of love and acceptance with my local community; finishing in the top 10 of beautiful ladies from across Canada.
Today, I share this story with you as a reminder that you are capable of accomplishing anything you put your mind to. Life may not always work out the way we plan, but everything happens for a reason and we need to trust the process.
So where to now? – I’ve decided to enrol in several courses in preparation to write the Canadian Armed Forces entrance exam. I have mentioned on my social channels before that I have an interest in becoming a Public Affairs Officer or Intelligence Officer, and I feel as though the time is right to further pursue this aspiration. I have also been freelancing, providing social media support to local businesses- and am going to FINALLY start up my YouTube channel.
Thank you once again for your continued support with all of my endeavours. Im looking forward to seeing what the future has in store!
